Netflix release for Dhanush-starrer 'Jagame Thandhiram' on June 18
South star Dhanush's upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram is all set to premiere on Netflix on June 18, the streaming platform announced on Tuesday. The Tamil-language action thriller, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, revolves around Suruli, a nomadic gangster who has to choose between good and evil in a war for what one can truly call home.
Film tells the story of a globally prevalent issue
Subbaraj said, Jagame Thandhiram is his dream project, and he has made it with heart. "The film is made with the ambition of telling a gripping story about a globally prevalent issue through a locally-rooted character in a most interesting and entertaining way," Subbaraj stated.
The film marks the debut of actor James Cosmo
"Audiences will yet again see Dhanush bring his immense talent and entertainment to the table across 190 countries on Netflix," he said. The film features Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan, Joju George and it also marks the debut of actor James Cosmo, the Jeor Mormont of Game of Thrones. It has been produced by YNot Studios and Reliance Entertainment.
Netflix had shared the film's official poster on Twitter
Sharing a new poster of the movie on Twitter in which a smiling Dhanush is seen sporting shades, the streaming giant Netflix wrote, "Suruli oda aatatha paaka naanga ready! Neenga ready ah? #JagameThandhiram coming on 18th June." The film's director Subbaraj has previously worked with Dhanush's father-in-law and superstar Rajnikanth in the 2019 action drama film Petta.

Meanwhile, Dhanush recently wrapped up shooting for Atrangi Re which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. He has also started shooting for the Hollywood movie The Gray Man in California which also stars Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, and Ana De Armas. The Kollywood actor is also working with his brother Selvaraghavan for the upcoming Tamil movie Naane Varuven.
