Yathra makes film debut in father Dhanush's directorial venture 'NEEK'
Following in his father's footsteps, Dhanush's son, Yathra, is making his film debut with the upcoming Tamil movie Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). The 17-year-old has penned the hook line for the film's song Golden Sparrow, in collaboration with lyricist Arivu and music director GV Prakash. NEEK, which marks Dhanush's third directorial venture after Pa. Pandi and Raayan, is already generating buzz among fans.
'Amazed by Yathra's work,' says SJ Suryah
Actor SJ Suryah, who previously worked with Dhanush on Raayan, took to social media to share his thoughts on Yathra's debut and praised Priyanka Mohan's performance in the song. Suryah wrote, "I had the privilege to watch the song with Dhanush sir and Priyanka Mohan. Very cute song...and the way director Dhanush pulled a very cute dance from Mohan as a cute pretty young maami is like super & addictive." He added, "The song penned by Dhanush sir's son...amazed boy."

Wunderbar Films CEO clarifies Yathra's contribution to song
However, Sreyas, the CEO of Dhanush's production house Wunderbar Films, clarified on social media that Yathra only wrote the hook line for the song. "Sirrr, Arivu brother has written the song, sir," he posted, further clarifying, "But Dhanush sir's son Yathra wrote only the hook four line of the song sir." "Thank you for your sweet words sir, #GoldenSparrow from August 30, (sic)," he concluded.
Yathra's personal life and interests
Yathra, born on October 10, 2006, is the first child of Dhanush and ex-wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. He has a younger brother named Linga. Yathra completed his schooling in Tamil Nadu and is rumored to have an interest in cinematography. However, he has not yet announced any projects in this field. In 2023, he made headlines when he was fined for riding a superbike without a helmet and driving license.
