'Kubera': Dhanush's film in controversy over title rights
What's the story
The upcoming film Kubera, starring Dhanush, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, has been caught in a controversy.
The row is reportedly over the film's title, with Telugu film producer Karimakonda Narender claiming he had earlier registered the name "Kubera" for his own project with the Telugu Film Producers Council in November 2023.
Narender has accused director Sekhar Kammula of title infringement.
Compensation demand
Narender demands compensation or a title change
In light of the alleged title infringement, Narender has demanded Kammula to either change his film's name or compensate him for his losses. He has also sought intervention from the Telugu Film Chamber in this matter.
However, no word has been received from the team of Kubera, including Dhanush and co-star Nagarjuna.
Despite the ongoing controversy, post-production work on Kubera continues after the completion of shooting.
