Divorce status and proceedings: Here's what we know
Contrary to popular reports, Verma's lawyer Aditi Mohan clarified her divorce from Chahal hasn't been finalized.
"I have no comments to make on the proceedings, the matter is currently sub judice," Mohan stated.
Earlier, reports claimed the final hearing was held at Bandra Family Court in Mumbai where both parties expressed their desire for a mutual consent divorce due to "compatibility issues."
They also revealed they had been living separately for 18 months.
Rumor origins
Separation rumors began in 2024, couple addressed them
Rumors of Chahal and Verma's separation started in late 2024 when fans observed they had unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Speculation grew after Chahal allegedly deleted all their photos together from his social media while Verma kept a few on hers. This sparked talks of a possible separation and a hefty financial settlement.
The couple, who wed in December 2020, started their journey during the COVID-19 lockdown when the cricketer stumbled upon Verma's dance videos and approached her for lessons.
