Dharmesh Darshan announces plans for 'Dhadkan 2'
Celebrated Bollywood filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan, renowned for his blockbuster films such as Lootere (1993), Raja Hindustani (1996), and Dhadkan (2000), recently unveiled plans for his new project, Dhadkan 2. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Darshan hinted that the film might not be a direct sequel to the classic 2000 romantic drama, but could offer an "absolutely fresh take on modern cinema by a newly reinvented Dharmesh Sheela Darshan."
'Dhadkan' - A major success and a bold casting decision
Dhadkan, featuring Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, and Suniel Shetty in lead roles, was a significant box office success. The film was produced on a budget of ₹9 crore and grossed approximately ₹26 crore. After considering several actors for the roles of Ram and Anjali, Darshan ultimately chose Kumar and Shetty Kundra. Despite rejections from actors like Arbaaz Khan and Bobby Deol due to the gray shade of the character Dev, Shetty accepted the role and impressed everyone.
