What's the story

The highly anticipated film Devara - Part 1 is scheduled to hit the screens on Friday. In a surprising move, the makers have voluntarily trimmed seven minutes from its Hindi version, reducing the runtime from the original length of two hours, 57 minutes, and 58 seconds to now stand at two hours, 50 minutes, and 58 seconds. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was informed about this decision on Tuesday.

Scene details

These were the scenes that were cut

The scene that was removed from the film begins with the dialogue, "Kya re, samandar pe rehne waale ko tu machli bech raha hai kya" and concludes at "Tere saath ek raat pakka bitaungi." This particular sequence lasts for four minutes and 41 seconds. Additionally, the rolling titles of two minutes and 19 seconds have also been trimmed. The Telugu version of Devara - Part 1 has undergone a similar reduction in length.

Release challenges

'Devara - Part 1' faces screen-sharing issues in Maharashtra

Despite the high anticipation for Devara - Part 1, the film is reportedly facing screen-sharing issues in Maharashtra. The release of another highly anticipated Marathi film, Dharmaveer: Mukkam Post Thane 2, on the same day has complicated matters, reported Bollywood Hungama. An exhibition official explained that single screens and some two-screen theaters are trying to figure out how to divide the shows between these two films.

Show allocation

Exhibitors are confused about show allocation

Further complicating the issue is the exceptional performance of last week's Marathi release, Navra Maza Navsacha 2. An exhibitor expressed their confusion over which film should be accommodated and how many shows should be allocated to each. "The show-sharing issue is a bit complicated as last week's Marathi release, Navra Maza Navsacha 2, is performing exceptionally well in Maharashtra," the source said.
