'Devara' passes the censor test but with 4 major changes
The much-anticipated film, Devara: Part 1, has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), reported Bollywood Hungama. The film's makers have made the required modifications as per the censor board's instructions. The movie, helmed by Kortala Siva and starring Jr NTR, supported by Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan (in their Telugu debuts), is set to hit theaters on September 27.
CBFC asked for modifications in violent scenes
According to the CBFC's cut list, four modifications were required in the film. Three of these changes pertained to violent scenes. In one scene, a character is seen kicking his wife, which was modified as per the board's instructions. Another scene involving a character kicking his mother was also altered. Additionally, a five-second shot of a body hanging on a sword was removed entirely.
CGI shark scene also modified
The fourth modification involved a scene where NTR is seen riding a shark. The CBFC asked the makers to include a ticker stating that the shark is CGI-generated. After these changes were made, the film was awarded a U/A certificate. The film will be released in its original Telugu version as well as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The story is set in the forgotten coastal regions and revolves around a tale of friendship and betrayal spanning multiple generations.
