'Devara' crosses ₹100cr in India in two days!
The action thriller Devara, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, has crossed the ₹100cr mark in India within just two days of its release. The film hit theaters on September 27 in five languages—Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada. Despite getting mixed reviews from critics and audiences, it still raked in an impressive ₹82.5cr on its opening day alone.
'Devara' set to recover its production cost soon
Directed by Koratala Siva, the film was reportedly made on a whopping budget of ₹300cr. On its second day, Saturday, it earned an additional ₹40cr, taking its total net collection in India to ₹122.5cr. With such a strong start, industry experts are predicting that Devara is on track to recover its production cost soon.
'Devara' boasts a star-studded cast
Devara: Part 1 unfolds in a coastal paradise and follows a heroic character, Devara, as he safeguards his people from external and internal threats. NTR plays the dual roles of Devara and Vara. Notably, this film marks Bollywood stars Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's foray into Telugu cinema. The cast is further boosted by performances from Chaitra Rai, Shruti Marathe, Shine Tom Chacko, and Murali Sharma.
