Dev Patel is an English actor who was born on April 23, 1990, in London to Gujarati Indian parents. He is the recipient of a Critics’ Choice Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He has also been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, an Academy Award, and three SAG Awards. Patel was interested in acting from a very young age and made his first-ever stage performance in his school’s production of ‘Twelfth Night.’ In 2006, Patel made his acting debut with the teen comedy-drama television series ‘Skins.’ He got his big break in 2008 with the lead role in Danny Boyle’s drama film ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ Patel received numerous accolades for his performance in the film. Following this, he appeared in the 2010 action-adventure fantasy film ‘The Last Airbender.’ He had also appeared in films like ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,’ ‘The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,’ ‘About Cherry,’ ‘The Road Within,’ ‘Lion’ and ‘The Green Knight,’ among several others. Patel had also signed a first-look film deal with ShivHans Pictures in 2021.
