This Valentine's Day, Delhi students worship Ranveer-Jacqueline to lose virginity
Keeping up with their bizarre Valentine's Day ritual, the students of Hindu College in Delhi have shortlisted Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranveer Singh as their Gods this year. While Jacqueline will be worshiped as Damdami Mai, Ranveer will be included in the tradition as Love Guru. Here's more on this unique practice.
This tradition is as weird as it gets
This one-of-its kind ritual is practised by the virgin students of the Hindu College each year, with the belief that it will lead them to find a partner in the next six months. Till last year, only the male students took part in the ritual, worshipping a Damdami Mai. However, this time around, Love Guru has been introduced for the female devotees.
There's a 'virgin tree' as well
What these 'hopeful' students do is that they keep a picture of the shortlisted actors under a 'virgin tree' that they have in their campus and decorate it with condoms filled with water. They then perform a pooja in front of it. Last year, their pick for Damdami Mai was 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' actress Disha Patani.
Here's why they picked up Ranveer-Jacqueline this time
"We mostly only choose a Damdami Mai, but this year we have a new introduction, a Love Guru. Jacqueline and Ranveer were chosen because they are the hottest and the most in-demand stars right now," says Lalit Kumar, president of the Hindu college hostel.
