Deepika, Priyanka have fake followers on Instagram, says ICMP report

Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra enjoy a massive fan following on Instagram, with 37.9 million and 43.6 million admirers respectively.
However, as per a recent report, maximum number of their Instagram followers are fake.
Reportedly, according to the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), 48% of Deepika's followers are fake, while Priyanka has 46% fake followers on the popular photo-sharing app.

Ellen DeGeneres has the maximum number of fake followers
ICMP recently released a list of 10 celebrities with the maximum number of fake followers on Instagram.
While the list was topped by popular talk show host Ellen DeGeneres with 58% of fake Instagram followers, Deepika was ranked at the sixth place on the list.
The list ended with the Quantico actress. Notably, Priyanka has the highest number of Instagram followers in India.

Kardashian sisters, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry also have fake followers
To note, this list also includes several other Hollywood stars like the Kardashian sisters, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, etc. Among the Kardashians, Kourtney was third on the list with 49%, while both Kim and Khloe had 44% of fake Instagram followers.
Research
ICMP gives details of research and tools used for it
Giving details of their research, ICMP stated that they zeroed in some of the "most successful" and "most followed" celebrities of different fields.
They were then filtered on the basis of the number of followers to get a top 100 most followed list.
Later their social media accounts were run "through IG Audit and Sparktoro's fake Twitter follower's tool" to measure the fake followers.

Meanwhile, Priyanka also made it to Hopperhq.com's Instagram Rich List 2019, which ranks celebrities on the basis of how much they charge for their promoted posts on Instagram.
As per the list, the 37-year-old, who earns $271,000 (approximately Rs. 1.9 crore) per post, secured the 19th spot in the list.
Interestingly, Indian cricketer captain Virat Kohli was at the 23rd spot in the list.
