Deepika Padukone is set to return to the xXx franchise and star opposite Vin Diesel. There were speculations going on for months about her involvement in the new film, and now the director has confirmed the news. Notably, in 2017, the 'Padmaavat' star had made her Hollywood debut in the same franchise in 'xXx The Return of Xander Cage'. Here are the details.

The xXx franchise is an action-adventure series. The first and third films star Vin Diesel, as an extreme-sports enthusiast who is recruited by the government to stop evil plots. The second part, 'xXx: State of the Union' stars famous rapper Ice Cube. The third installment had received widespread global success, making $300 million. Interestingly, Deepika had played the protagonist Serena Unger in this film.
The Bollywood star returns, and brings local flavor to Hollywood
Deepika's return was confirmed by the director, DJ Caruso. It so happened that recently Caruso welcomed Wang Yuan, the popular Chinese singer-actor on Twitter. Indian fans used the opportunity to ask him if Deepika would be a part of the movie and he replied in affirmative. He also announced his plans to have a Bollywood-style dance song in the movie, led by Deepika.
