Keeping up with that reputation, this morning, she left everyone floored after she shared the first look from Chhapaak.
Notably, in this film, Deepika will be playing the role of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal.
The actress also revealed that she will begin shooting for this much-anticipated movie, today onwards.

She captioned the image as, "A character that will stay with me forever."
Interestingly, the Cocktail actor took the help of prosthetic make up to get the look of an acid attack survivor right.
Undoubtedly, her look as Malti has left everyone intrigued.

There's an uncanny similarity between the survivor, Deepika: Meghna
Earlier, Meghna Gulzar, director of the movie, spoke about Deepika's look from Chhapaak.
She stated that the actress would be unrecognizable in the film.
"You won't be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika. There is an uncanny similarity between the survivor and Deepika," she added.
Well, after the first look, we couldn't agree with her more.
Story
'Chhapaak' is a story of Laxmi's triumph in life
For the uninitiated, Chhapaak will feature the story and struggles of Laxmi, the poster girl of acid attack survivors in India.
Laxmi was attacked in 2005 by a 32-year-old man named Gudda aka Naeem Khan whose proposal she had rejected. She was 15 then.
Laxmi's face and other body parts were disfigured in the attack, but it didn't diminish her courage and poise.

'Chhapaak' and 'Tanaji' will clash at the box office
Chhapaak will also star Vikrant Massey essaying the role of Laxmi's partner, a journalist turned social activist Alok Dixit. The movie will hit the screens on January 10, 2020. Interestingly, it will witness a box office clash with Ajay Devgn's Tanaji, also starring Kajol.
