Deepika Padukone in talks for remake of Sridevi's superhit film
Deepika Padukone is yet to take up a new project after the stupendous success of 'Padmaavat'. Lately, there have been multiple reports of Deepika coming onboard for different projects but none of them have come to be true till now. The latest updates, however, have it that the 'Cocktail' actor has been offered a remake of a superhit Sridevi film.
The name of the original film has not been revealed
Without giving away the name of the film, a media report stated that it will be bankrolled by a producer from the Southern movie industry and helmed by a Bollywood director. Currently, the talks are on to procure the rights and remake it with Deepika. If the film gets made, we are sure that she will do complete justice to the part.
Makers feel it's too early to talk about the project
"Nobody is willing to comment on the subject because talks have just been mooted and there are a lot of modalities involved. However, it is true that Deepika is in the know," the report said.
Meanwhile, Deepika's film with Vishal Bhardwaj is put on hold
Deepika was supposed to start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's film on a mafia queen in May, but it has been put on the back burner due to the ill-health of its leading man - Irrfan Khan. Vishal said in a statement that he won't start the project till Irrfan is up and about. Besides, Deepika was also said to be doing a super-hero film.
