'Piku' stars Deepika-Irrfan's reunion postponed
The wait for Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan to come together on the silver screen for the second time is going to be a bit longer. The shooting of their next film with Vishal Bhardwaj has been delayed as of now. The director himself made the announcement revealing that the actors have not been keeping well. Here's more.
Both the actors down with health problems
Vishal Bhardwaj took to Facebook to inform that Irrfan is down with jaundice and has been advised complete rest for a few weeks. On the other hand, Deepika's back problem has resurfaced after she suffered a neck injury last year during the filming of 'Padmaavat.' The shooting for the film will commence only after the actors have fully recovered from their respective ailments.
About the film
Vishal clarified that the film is not a biopic on mafia queen Rahima Khan (Sapna Didi). "Yes, it's a take-off from the story 'Femme Fatale' from Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' but as we worked on this idea, the story and screenplay have taken on a new identity and shape," he wrote. Deepika and Irrfan were last seen in 'Piku' in 2015.
