Deepika credits husband Ranveer for her successful career: Details here
From slaying it together at award functions and parties to sharing cute gestures on each other's social media handles, Deepika Padukone and husband Ranveer Singh never fail to set some couple goals for the rest of us, as they go along their wonderful married journey. And now, in a recent interview, Deepika has said that she owes her successful career to Ranveer. Here's why.
"A lot of what I've achieved is because of Ranveer"
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar India for the magazine's October 2019 cover, the 33-year-old actress said, "A lot of what I'm able to achieve is because of him [Ranveer] in terms of how comfortable he is with my success, or how supportive he is." Calling themselves a "good team", Deepika said that Ranveer stood by her when she was suffering from depression.
He has seen me at my lowest phase, shares Deepika
Further, Deepika added, "Over seven years, before we got married, we've been through a lot. He's seen my career on the upside-down and seen me at my lowest phase when I was going through depression, and he's been there for me."
Here's what Deepika thinks of being the highest-paid Indian actress
In the same interview, Deepika, who happens to be the country's highest-paid actress, was asked about how she feels about the feat. To this, the Piku actress replied, "A part of me feels guilty, because I think it's important to put the film before any of this. I've become a producer now, so I understand this slightly better."
Deepika believes she is "weird" because of this one thing
Deepika also shared she considers herself weird because of her obsession with cleanliness. "In today's context, I could be considered a weird person. When I was on my bachelorette, I did laundry twice a day, so I suppose I am weird," she summed.
Separately, Deepika to soon feature in 'Chhapaak' and '83'
Meanwhile, Deepika is set to star in Meghna Gulzar-directorial Chhapaak, also starring Vikrant Massey. The film is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. She will also be seen opposite hubby Ranveer in Kabir Khan's upcoming sports drama film, '83, which is based on India's 1983 Cricket World Cup glory. This would be the power couple's fourth onscreen collaboration.
