Deepak Thakur rose to fame after he sang ‘Humni Ke Chhodi Ke’ in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur Part I.’ From a village in Bihar to Bollywood, Thakur’s journey was one of persistence and hard work. Born on March 24, 1994, in Athar, Bihar, India, Thakur’s love for singing began at an early age. To cater to his passion, the family moved to Muzaffarpur. He graduated in business administration from Lalit Narayan Mishra College of Business Management. However, he did not complete his master’s in business administration to pursue a career in singing. He spent most of his early days singing at weddings and other local ceremonies. Thakur received his much-awaited break in 2012 when he was chosen to sing in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur Part I.’ In 2014, he began his YouTube channel where he uploaded his songs. He later sang in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur Part II’ as well. Thakur was part of the reality television show ‘Big Boss 12.’ He entered the show along with his girlfriend Urvashi Vani. He finished as the second runner-up of the show.
