Ryan Reynolds says no post-credits scene in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'
What's the story
If it isn't like Deadpool to do something differently.
In a covert video discovered on his official YouTube channel, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds suggested that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, Deadpool & Wolverine, might not feature a post-credits scene.
The video was revealed through a QR code hidden in the movie's latest trailer. Reynolds states in the video, "This film is as paper-thin as a sequel to Battlefield Earth... and (will) completely sidestep Marvel's mandated after-credits sequence."

Reynolds seemed to inform viewers what awaited them
Recently, Disney released a new trailer while announcing the tickets were on sale.
In this trailer, a QR code was hidden, which took viewers to Reynolds's video.
"We're very excited to be joining you July 26 (release date)," says the actor.
"We're mostly going to beat each other senseless, make enemies with Disney, tell a few d-ck jokes, make a few jokes at my expense, make a lot of jokes at Hugh's expense, and completely sidestep Marvel's mandated after-credits sequence."
Misdirect
Is Reynolds trying to throw fans off?
Although Reynolds's claim has caused an uproar in the Marvel fandom, it contradicts Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld's comments.
Liefeld had previously supported an insider's claim that the post-credits scene for Deadpool & Wolverine would be "mind-blowing."
This discrepancy has led to speculation that Reynolds might be attempting to misdirect audience expectations to heighten the surprise of a possible post-credits scene.
Only director Shawn Levy, the film's producers, and Marvel executives will know for certain if such a scene is included.
Marvel standard
Potential deviation from Marvel tradition of post-credits scene
The lack of a post-credits scene in Deadpool & Wolverine would be an unusual deviation for a Marvel film.
These scenes typically pave the way for future projects and character appearances within the MCU.
The unique abilities of Deadpool and Wolverine could potentially craft an innovative and self-aware post-credits scene.
However, Reynolds's video implies that if such a scene exists, it might not pave the way for future projects but conclude with an inconsequential gag instead.
