Why 'Deadpool' creator wants Marvel boss Kevin Feige to resign
What's the story
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently took to social media to slam Marvel Studios and its honcho Kevin Feige. This comes on the heels of a string of disappointing performances of the latest MCU releases.
Liefeld recently parted ways with Marvel after he felt that his work on Deadpool & Wolverine went unrecognized.
He took to X (formerly Twitter) to say Feige should resign after the studio's recent debacles.

Inconsistent performance
MCU's recent releases have been met with mixed responses
Under Feige's leadership, the MCU has been going through a phase of inconsistency.
The franchise's Phase 4 was criticized for being rushed and not having a consistent tone. While there were some standouts like Shang-Chi and Loki, many projects failed to meet expectations or engage audiences.
This trend continued into Phase 5 with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania tanking both critically and commercially.
Box office woes
'Captain America 4' struggles to turn a profit
The latest MCU film, Captain America: Brave New World, started strong at the box office but lost steam pretty quickly. After just two weeks in theaters, ticket sales plummeted.
The film has only grossed $280 million worldwide so far against an estimated budget of $300 million (including marketing costs).
It now faces tough competition from Disney's Snow White and needs to cross $400 million to be profitable—a target that seems far-fetched at the moment.
Upcoming releases
Marvel's hopes for future success with Phase 6
After calling out Feige, Liefeld also revealed his favorite MCU movie, tweeting, "The best Marvel film ever made" alongside the IMDb page for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Despite the recent setbacks, Marvel Studios remains hopeful about its future projects.
The studio will launch Phase 6 of the MCU with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
