Marvel Cinematic Universe might make X-Men, Deadpool movies from 2019
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding and this time it is looking to include some Marvel superheroes who have been under Fox studios for a long time. These superheroes include the likes of Deadpool, X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Much to the excitement of fans, MCU could also start making movies on them as early as 2019. Read all about this exciting news here.
Nothing solid yet, but work on movies could start soon
MCU's head Kevin Feige was speaking with Variety's Kris Tapley on their podcast when he said that though there was no solid timeline about movies being made on the characters from Fox, the conversation could 'happen in the first six months of 2019'. Feige noted things were looking good. Notably, a merger with Fox is scheduled to take place in January 2019.
Feige is excited about Marvel characters returning
Feige said, "The notion of the characters coming back is great. It's nice when a company that created all these characters can have access to all those characters. It's unusual not to. But... thinking about it and actually planning things, we haven't started that yet".
Could Ryan Reynolds return as Deadpool in Marvel universe?
The Fox merger has a lot of implications for the Marvel universe. Would the casting remain the same for popular characters like Deadpool? Would Ryan Reynolds reprise his role? Fans are also hoping to see an X-Men v/s Avengers movie down the line, and Feige himself is excited about the merger giving the MCU additional content to work with for their upcoming movies.
After 'Avengers: Endgame', Marvel will look to expand content
After Avengers: Endgame in April 2019, Marvel will be looking to expand their content to new heroes. Since the film finishes a phase of Marvel movies, the only official announcement of a movie after Endgame is Spider-Man: Far From Home. However, after this merger, Marvel could have a host of new characters to explore in upcoming movies. The future of Marvel looks bright indeed!
