Daya of 'CID': This is a surgical strike on show
The sudden announcement about the end of Sony TV's cult show 'CID' left many of us heartbroken. The show will be pulled down after its successful run of over two decades. The reason cited was internal conflict between the channel and the makers. Although the channel has assured CID's return, Dayanand Shetty aka Daya says it's difficult. He also likened the abrupt end to "surgical strike".
CID will comeback with a new season, assured channel
Confirming the news of CID's end, Sony TV had assured that the show will return with "lot more contextual cases" intended to keep the thrill of it alive. The channel will air the last episode of CID on Saturday, October 27.
This is a like a surgical strike on CID: Daya
Daya further expressed his anger and called the show's sudden end a surgical strike. He even stated that there has to be a logical reason behind this. "You can't choke CID this way. This is like a surgical strike. Surgically, they have eliminated the show, and it's happening for the past two years now," Daya was quoted as saying.
The team has already started working elsewhere: Daya
Upset with the show's abrupt end, Daya said that none of the team members will wait for three months for CID's comeback. He also asserted that it is difficult to bring back the original team after such a break. "I am sure no one will wait for so long. There are many people in our team who have already begun working elsewhere," Daya stated.
Daya claims this is not the first time
Furthermore, Daya stated that this isn't the first time that 'CID' was stopped abruptly. Earlier, in May 2016, the channel stopped telecasting the show for a month without any prior notice. "We had shot a bank of episodes, but still, they didn't air them. So now, the producers have taken a stand and they have stopped the shoot of the serial," he added.
