Box office: Kareena-Tabu-Kriti's 'Crew' sees a significant drop in collections
The star-studded film Crew, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, has seen a significant drop in box office earnings on its 25th day of release. Despite surpassing the ₹100cr mark globally within the first nine days, the film is now struggling to hit the ₹75cr milestone domestically. On Monday, Crew reportedly earned ₹31 lakh at the box office, marking a downturn in revenue at the start of its fourth week.
A breakdown of the collection of 'Crew'
After a strong start in its first week with ₹43.75cr, followed by a steady second week bringing in ₹21.45cr, the film experienced a dip in collections during its third week, totaling just ₹6.65cr due to competition from other major releases. On Day 24, the film saw a resurgence, raking in an estimated ₹1.25cr. However, the following Monday witnessed a sharp decline, with collections plummeting to a new low of ₹31 lakh, bringing its total India nett collection to ₹74.66cr.
'Crew's Hindi viewership was 10.23% on Day 25
The film's Hindi viewership was recorded as 10.23% on Monday. Per the tracker, the audience attendance rate for Crew varied throughout the day, with 6.93% for morning shows, 10.44% for afternoon shows, 12.90% for evening shows, and 10.64% for night shows. Despite facing tough competition from other films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Maidaan, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, and Do Aur Do Pyaar, Crew has managed to maintain its appeal among moviegoers.
'Crew' is a comedy of errors featuring stellar performances
In Crew, Kapoor Khan, Sanon, and Tabu deliver compelling performances as flight attendants of Kohinoor Airlines (conspicuously inspired by Kingfisher Airlines) embroiled in a comedic heist with dreams of prosperity. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they are caught up in a web of deceit driven by greed due to unforeseen events. The film also features special appearances by Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma. It is backed by Ektaa Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.
Meanwhile, look at the upcoming ventures of Kapoor, Tabu, Sanon
Following the success of Crew, the trio has a slew of films lined up. Kapoor Khan is preparing for the highly-anticipated Singham Again, set to hit screens on August 15. Additionally, there are rumors of her making her Kannada debut in Yash's Toxic. Tabu is set to star alongside her Drishyam co-star Ajay Devgn in Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha.
