Rajinikanth's wife directed to repay debt worth Rs. 6.20 crore
In a major setback to Rajinikanth and his family, the Supreme Court's verdict in the 'Kochadaiiyaan' selling rights case has not come out in their favor. The apex court has directed the megastar's wife Latha Rajinikanth to refund Rs. 6.20 crore to a private distribution firm. Here's more on it.
Latha has twelve weeks to make the payment
A deadline of twelve weeks has been set by the Supreme Court for Latha to make the settlement. The case was filed by a distribution firm called Ad Bureau. They had apparently loaned Rs. 10 crore to complete the filming of 'Kochadaiiyaan', but were later cheated by the producers who sold the film's distribution rights to Eros International behind their back.
Negative publicity for Rajinikanth, the politician
The decision that comes shortly after Rajinikanth decided to foray into Tamil Nadu politics may have a negative impact on his new endeavor. However, given the rage that he is down South, one is sure it would not dent his image in any which way.
