No release for Padmavat in Rajasthan confirms Chief Minister
Although Sanjay Leela Bhansali and team Padmavat heaved a sigh of relief when the film finally got a confirmed release date of January 25, but it looks like there's still some trouble awaiting them. Now, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has pitched in and stated that the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer film will not be released in Rajasthan. Here's more!
Here's what Vasundhara Raje said
In a statement, Raje was quoted as saying, "Keeping in mind the sentiments of the people residing in Rajasthan, the film Padmavat won't be screened in any of the theatres of the state." She added that queen Padmini's sacrifice is not just a chapter in the history books, but is also related to the honor of the state.
'Padmavat' will reportedly clash with other big films
After a lengthy battle, 'Padmavat' is finally releasing on January 25. However, some reports claim that the makers are now considering a February 9 release. Either way, it will clash with one or the other big movies: Akshay Kumar's 'Padman' is releasing on January 25, while Anushka Sharma's 'Pari' will come on February 9. But, beggars can't be choosers. Can they?
