How poor timing foiled Coldplay's appearance on Kapil's show
What's the story
In a surprising revelation, popular comedian Kapil Sharma revealed that British rock band Coldplay had shown interest in coming on his show, The Great Indian Kapil Show.
The news came during a Netflix event where Sharma announced the third season of his show.
Considering Coldplay came to India for concerts, reports about their appearance on the Hindi comedy show spread earlier. Now, the comedian has confirmed that there was truth to the rumors.
Timing issue
Coldplay's request came during show's hiatus
Sharma revealed that Coldplay had emailed him about wanting to be guests on his show. But the timing wasn't on their side as the show wasn't airing when they approached.
"We told the makers to keep the set ready all year. You won't believe it- while people were buying Coldplay tickets, they emailed us saying they wanted to come to our show," Sharma said at a recent event.
Comedic spin
Sharma is now requesting Netflix to keep running the show
Known for his quick wit, Sharma humorously expressed regret about the show's hiatus during Coldplay's request.
"I told them, 'You should have come, but our show wasn't running.' So I humbly request Netflix: please keep it going," he joked.
Notably, in the show's first season, British singer Ed Sheeran had made an appearance. So Coldplay's guest appearance wouldn't have been difficult, only if, timing didn't pose a difficulty.
Show's comeback
