British rock band Coldplay has announced a third show in Mumbai as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 due to "phenomenal demand." The announcement comes after fans faced difficulties in securing tickets for the first two shows, with the ticketing platform BookMyShow's server reportedly crashing due to high traffic. The additional concert will be held on January 21, 2025.

The third show will be held at Mumbai's DY Patil Sports Stadium. Tickets for the concert are currently live on BookMyShow. "Due to phenomenal demand, a third Mumbai date has been added at DY Patil Stadium for January 21, 2025. Tickets on sale at 2pm IST today," Coldplay said in a tweet, sharing the booking link.
BookMyShow server crashed during ticket sales
Earlier on Sunday, the BMS server had crashed as fans rushed to buy tickets for the first two shows, scheduled for January 18 and January 19, 2025. The tickets were sold out in less than an hour. Fans took to social media to express their anger over long virtual queues and unavailability of tickets. The hashtags 'Coldplay,' 'BookMyShow,' and 'Crashed' started trending on X.
Coldplay's first India visit in 8 years
This concert will mark Coldplay's first visit to India in eight years. The Grammy-winning band previously performed in Mumbai as part of the Global Citizen Festival back in 2016. The Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 will commence on October 30 at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, and will conclude on August 31, 2025, with a show at the Wembley Stadium in London, the UK.
