K-pop artist Chuu gears up for comeback with new album
ATRP, the agency representing K-pop sensation Chuu, announced on Wednesday that the artist is preparing for a comeback next month. Currently in Australia, Chuu is filming a music video for her upcoming album. ATRP urged fans to anticipate new music and captivating performances from the singer.
Chuu's previous success sets high expectations for comeback
Chuu's debut mini-album Howl, released in October 2023, earned her international acclaim for her captivating voice and interesting themes. The album made a significant global impact, topping the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart for two consecutive days. Notably, Chuu was the only female solo artist to be featured in Billboard's 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2023 list.
Chuu's versatility beyond music amplifies anticipation
Beyond her musical prowess, Chuu has charmed audiences with her unique personality and entertainment sense across various platforms. She has made appearances on entertainment shows, starred in advertisements, and created YouTube content. This versatility has heightened the anticipation for her upcoming solo comeback among fans and industry insiders alike.
Chuu recently underwent upheaval due to former agency, lawsuits
Notably, the album news comes a month after the ex-LOONA member won her second lawsuit against her previous agency BlockBerry Creative (BBC). The Seoul High Court's civil division upheld the initial ruling in March that Chuu wasn't legally obligated to fulfill her exclusive contract with BBC. In December 2022, Chuu filed a lawsuit against BBC to nullify her exclusive contract, citing unfair profit distribution and a loss of trust. This came after BBC's sudden announcement about Chuu's expulsion from LOONA.
