Since her MS diagnosis, Christina Applegate hospitalized over 30 times
What's the story
Hollywood actor Christina Applegate, famous for her role in Married... with Children, has been hospitalized over 30 times from "unimaginable" pain from gastrointestinal issues.
The actor, who has been suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS), revealed this on the first-anniversary episode of her MesSy podcast with Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
"This is really important because for three years, since I was diagnosed, I've been in the hospital upwards of 30 times from throwing up and diarrhea and pain that is unimaginable," Applegate shared.
Symptom discovery
Applegate's discovery of potential cause for symptoms
Notably, Applegate (53) was diagnosed with MS in early 2021. However, she recently established a possible cause for her symptoms.
"Now, maybe this isn't what's happening, but I'm just gonna tell you this: Talk to your doctor about motility issues, OK? Because one of the things with MS is that it slows down our organs—not completely, but there is a slowing of the function of your organs," Applegate suggested on the podcast.
Bodily response
'If I have to poop, I puke. When I puke...'
Applegate also revealed her body sometimes responds at the same time to bathroom calls.
"I'm gonna be honest, if I have to poop, I puke. And when I puke, I get all the pain, and then all the things happen," she said of the bodily response, calling it "the fight club."
Although doctors told her these symptoms don't relate to her MS, Applegate thinks there is "a correlation."
