'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' using James Gunn's script
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the final movie in the trilogy that brought together the ragtag group from across the universe who set out to save the day while having fun. Recently we reported that Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, had promised the hitherto shelved film would be made. He has now revealed they will use James Gunn's script. Read on.
Disney doesn't want Gunn as director, but will use script
For those unaware, Gunn, who directed the first two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, was fired by Disney after old tweets resurfaced where he had made light of pedophilia and rape. While cast members came out supporting the director, Disney stayed firm in its decision to not have Gunn on board as director. However, they appear to be willing to use his script.
Pratt revealed in recent interview script is 'off the chain'
While Disney is willing to use his script, they are looking for another director. Star-Lord or Peter Quinn actor, Pratt confirmed this to MTV News, during an interview. When asked if he had read the script, Pratt said "Yeah, I have. It's off the chain. It's so good. It's so good". The actor also got emotional about not having Gunn for the third film.
Pratt promises they will 'come together and get job done'
Pratt promised, "I'm loyal to James... We're gonna deliver the movie. We're gonna give the fans what they deserve. I think it's in the nature of the Guardians of the Galaxy to come together and get the job done, and that's what we'll do".

Disney's loss is Warner Bros' gain as Gunn changes team
While Pratt and his co-stars are staying loyal to Gunn, the director has changed ships since being fired from the Marvel project by Disney. However, his firing is good news for Warner Bros. As we reported, Gunn is now directing the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. Meanwhile, Disney and Marvel are considering the likes of Adam McKay and Jon Favreau to direct the Guardians movie.
