Fresh off the success of Sam Bahadur, Vicky Kaushal is preparing to portray a historical figure. In Laxman Utekar's Chhaava, Kaushal will reportedly embody the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Viral behind-the-scenes glimpses revealed Kaushal fully immersed in his role, complete with traditional saffron attire, a rudraksha necklace, and a robust beard and mustache. His warrior-like persona is further enhanced by a semi-bun hairstyle and three stripes of tilak on his forehead.

Chhaava is a film that delves into the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The movie features an impressive ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Pradeep Singh Rawat, and Divya Dutta. Per reports, Mandanna will be seen portraying Yesubai Bhonsale, wife of Sambhaji Maharaj. Earlier this year, she completed her scenes for the film.

Earlier, Mandanna took to Instagram to express her admiration for director Utekar. She praised his ability to manage a large set with grace and tranquility. "Laxman Utekar sir...I just wonder how can a man handle such a big set with at least 1,500 working people with such calm and poise," she wrote. To note, Chhaava is slated to hit theaters on December 6.
