Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' is now tax-free in Madhya Pradesh
What's the story
The historical action film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, has been made tax-free in Madhya Pradesh.
MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the same on his official X/Twitter account on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary.
"On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary, I announce the tax-free release of the Hindi film Chhaava, based on his son Sambhaji Maharaj," he wrote.

Responding to appeals for a tax-free status for Chhaava, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised the film.
He said, "I am happy that a very good movie has been made on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj."
He also mentioned entertainment tax for films was removed in Maharashtra in 2017, and added, "We will see what best we can do to promote this film and make it available to as many people as possible."

'Chhaava' received high praise from Bollywood celebrities
Bollywood celebrities have also showered praise on Chhaava. Recently, Alia Bhatt, who starred with Kaushal in the 2018 film Raazi, took to Instagram to express her admiration for Kaushal's performance in the film.
She wrote, "Vicky Kaushal! What are you???? Cannot get over your performance in Chaava!" She also praised Khanna and Mandanna's performances.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar called the film "solid" and congratulated the team behind it.
