'Chhaava' roars at box office; crosses ₹100cr in 3 days

The historical drama Chhaava, featuring Vicky Kaushal, has exceeded expectations at the box office by raking in a net collection of ₹116.5 crore within three days of its global release.
The film's occupancy rates on February 15 and 16 stood at 50.39% and 62.48%, respectively.
This Maddock Films production has now emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year, beating Akshay Kumar's Sky Force, industry tracker Sacnilk reported.

'Chhaava' witnessed a surge in Maharashtra
The film, which tells the story of Maratha King Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his fight against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, has been a particular hit in Maharashtra owing to its historical significance and Sambhaji's cult following.
The popularity prompted theaters to add more shows, with some even past midnight, to cater to the increasing demand.

'Chhaava' saw a significant increase in earnings on Sunday
On Sunday, the third day of its release, Chhaava witnessed a 31.08% jump in earnings. The film earned ₹48.5 crore on the day alone, taking its total Indian box office collection to ₹116.5 crore.
Made on a budget of ₹130 crore, the film had a strong box office opening by collecting ₹31 crore—marking Kaushal's biggest opening to date.
International success
'Chhaava' also made waves in overseas markets
Apart from its domestic success, Chhaava also did well internationally. By the third day of its release, the film had earned ₹18.4 crore overseas.
The film's international success further underscores its broad appeal and strong box office performance.
Kaushal aside, the Laxman Utekar directorial also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles.
