
Chennai: AR Rahman discharged after hospitalization for dehydration
What's the story
Acclaimed music composer A.R. Rahman (58) was discharged from a Chennai hospital on Sunday after he was admitted for dehydration and gastric issues, reported PTI.
His son Ameen confirmed the news on Instagram, saying his father felt weak due to dehydration but is doing well now.
Earlier, reports claimed the two-time Oscar winner was hospitalized due to chest pain, which was later refuted by his sister Reihana.
Health updates
Rahman's manager and son provided updates on health
Rahman's manager Senthil Velan confirmed the composer had initially also complained of neck pain.
"He is perfectly fine. He was hospitalized early this morning... The doctors conducted some tests and everything was normal," Velan told PTI.
Echoing the same sentiments, Ameen wrote, "My father felt a bit weak due to dehydration hence we went ahead and did some routine tests, but I'm happy to share that he is doing well now."

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin inquired about Rahman's health
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also called to check Rahman's health.
In a post on social media, he wrote, "They have informed me that he is doing fine and will return home soon. Happy."
Rahman is a world-renowned musician, famed for his films like Roja, Dil Se, Enthiran, and Slumdog Millionaire.
He is currently attached to several upcoming projects, including Lahore 1947 and Thug Life.
He recently composed music for Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava.
