Did Chandrachur Singh accuse Salman Khan of lying? Find out
Actor Chandrachur Singh has seemingly accused superstar Salman Khan of lying over one of his comments about him. Recently, a video from an old Koffee With Karan episode resurfaced on social media, where Khan claimed Saif Ali Khan and Singh refused to play Aman's role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai despite being out of work. Calling Khan a liar, Singh has dismissed these claims.
Why does this story matter?
The 1998 super hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji in the lead. Helmed by Karan Johar, it featured Tiger 3 actor Kha in a guest appearance as Aman, Anjali's (Kajol) fiance. Even though it was a guest role, Khan received praise for his performance. It was also his second collaboration with SRK.
Singh dismisses Khan's 'no work' comment
Per a screenshot of Singh's now-deleted tweet shared by a Reddit user, he called Khan's old KWK comments a lie. "Jhooth Salman ka (Salman's lie)," Singh allegedly tweeted. When the user asked him what the lie was, Singh reportedly responded he had films like Josh, Daag: The Fire, Kya Kehna, and Silsila Hai Pyaar Ka, adding, "I made a choice (to not do KKHH)."
What Khan said about Singh
In the said video, Khan could be seen talking with Johar about Aman's character and how the role got landed with him. Khan claimed the role was first offered to Saif and Singh before it came to him. "Saif, at that point of time, was doing nothing. [Singh] was doing nothing. Even they refused it. I did it, Karan," said Khan.
'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' completed 25 years recently
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released in the theaters on October 16, 1998. Last week, the film completed 25 years of its release, with makers hosting a special screening of the movie in Mumbai. The screening was attended by SRK, Mukerji, and Johar sans Kajol. It was re-released in select Mumbai cinemas; tickets were sold at Rs. 25 to mark its silver jubilee celebrations.
