Facts worth knowing about Cersei Lannister, the evilest character alive
She is conniving, cruel, and complicated. She has lived on her own terms, ruled over the seven kingdoms, and decimated anyone who tried to oppose her in the 'GoT' world. One of the evilest characters ever created, Cersei Lannister is someone you would never want to cross paths with. Here are some facts about the cleverly lethal Lannister queen that fans should know.
Not just Jaime, Cersei loved Rhaegar Targaryen too
Cersei loved Jaime but that kind of relationship was completely unacceptable. When she was a child, she got infatuated with Rhaegar Targaryen and was even betrothed to him. Sadly, he rejected her for Lyanna Stark. She was also attracted to Viserys but couldn't marry him either. Eventually, she ended up marrying Robert Baratheon who was also in love with Lyanna Stark!
Caught in the act by her mother
One of the most taboo things that Cersei has done is sleeping with her twin brother, Jaime. When they were children, they were caught in the act by a guard who in turn told their mother. She separated them and moved them to different ends of the castle. As fate would have it, she soon died and their secret died with her.
In a twisted and complicated relationship with her husband
King Robert Baratheon did not love Cersei, even a bit. He, in fact, called her Lyanna during their first night together, causing Cersei to hate him as well. She continued her incestuous relationship with Jaime and bore him three children - Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen (passing them off as Robert's). When she got pregnant with Robert's child, she promptly sought out a cleansing (abortion)!
Cersei's thoughts about being the Queen
"She had suffered [Robert, Varys, Jaime]; contended with Jon Arryn, Ned Stark, and [Tyrion], all the while promising herself that one day it'd be her turn. If Margaery Tyrell thinks to cheat me of my hour in the sun, she had bloody well think again."
The prophecy that changed everything
Cersei once visited a witch, Maggy the Frog who told her she'd have three children and outlive them all. She would lose her crown to a younger, more beautiful queen and when she's lost everything, she'd be killed by the Valonqar (Valyrian for little brother). Her three children have died, Daenerys is on the rise, and she has two younger brothers to worry about.
Her murderous impulses have been there since childhood
She visited Maggy the Frog with her best friend, Melara Hetherspoon. Melara asked her if she would one day marry Jaime Lannister, but Maggy told her that she won't marry anyone as her death was close. The girls fled Maggy's place and Melara soon died after drowning in a well. It is believed that Cersei pushed her in the well out of jealousy.
