'Modi ji,' 'Haryanvi' replaced—changes made in 'Mere Husband Ki Biwi'
What's the story
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered four cuts in the upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi, featuring a star-studded cast of Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bhumi Pednekar. The film will hit theaters on Friday (February 21).
The board's Examining Committee (EC) reportedly asked for one visual cut and three dialogue cuts.
These included replacing a "woman hand gesture" visual, changing "Haryanvi" to "Ek gang," and "Modi ji" to "The Government."
Sensual audio
CBFC also demanded reduction in 'sensual audio of woman'
Along with the aforementioned changes, the EC also directed the filmmakers to tone down a "sensual audio of woman" by 50%, as per a report by Bollywood Hungama.
This change is reportedly made in a scene from the trailer where Singh's character moans loudly as Kapoor's character kisses her neck. The scene was intended to evoke jealousy in Pednekar's character.
After these changes were made, Mere Husband Ki Biwi was cleared with a UA 13+ rating.
