#GameOfThrones: Jorah Mormont actor supported revealing ending to cast-members
Game of Thrones, the HBO show, airs its eighth and final season on April 14. Despite all the hype surrounding the finale, show details have mostly been kept under wraps. Maybe HBO wanted to keep cast members in the dark too but was convinced by Iain Glen, who plays Jorah Mormont, to reveal the complete ending with all the spoilers. Read about it here.
Glen reflected on how showmakers should trust actors with details
Glen commented how HBO and the show makers should trust the cast members with details of the current season, instead of trying to limit their knowledge. He said, "Certain directors work that way... but I find it slightly belittling to what we do as actors, the notion that we're denied large [parts of the script] unless it's integral to the story that you're telling".
'We always got to read everything before we started'
Glen advocated knowing the entire script, to get an idea of the project, which helped actors envision roles. He said, "The knowledge you gain about the story, the telling, and the themes that are involved ... you piece your little journey into that. That's what we do as actors. We should be given the material. We always got to read everything before we started".
Despite knowing ending, Glen was careful not to reveal it
Glen, however, realized the responsibility that accompanied the knowledge about the show's ending. Thus, he played coy when asked about it, saying, "I was in awe at the writing finesse". He concluded, "That it just realized everything in a very fulfilled way. I thought it was brilliant, yet beautiful". For those unaware, Glen's character Jorah Mormont is a disgraced Westerosi knight and Daenerys' advisor.
Since cast members know show ending, the secret isn't safe
Despite Glen's well-placed intentions about actors being benefited by knowing the entire story, HBO is facing a potential leak from cast members. As we had reported, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show has already revealed the ending to her closest friends. Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, also recently got in trouble with his wife for revealing GoT's ending to her.
