'GOAT' actor Parvati accused of assaulting domestic help; case filed
The Tamil Nadu police have reportedly registered a case against actor Parvati Nair, Ayalaan producer Rajesh, and five others based on a complaint by her domestic worker, Subhash Chandrabose. The complaint alleges that Nair and her aides assaulted Chandrabose over suspicions of theft. The case was registered following orders by Saidapet Court in Chennai after no action was taken on the initial complaint lodged by Chandrabose.
Background: Nair had earlier reported theft from her home
In 2022, Nair had filed a complaint with the Chennai police, alleging that about ₹9 lakh in cash, an iPhone, and a laptop were missing from her home. She had suspected Chandrabose's involvement in the theft. However, while the police were investigating the matter, Chandrabose filed a counter-complaint accusing Nair and her aides of physically assaulting him and confining him in a room.
Nair denies allegations; claims dissatisfaction with Chandrabose's responses
Nair has reportedly denied the allegations of assault, stating that she had only questioned Chandrabose about the theft. She expressed dissatisfaction with his responses, which subsequently led her to file the initial complaint. The actor emphasized that her intention was solely to recover the lost items. Nair was recently seen in Vijay's GOAT and has also been a part of 83, D Company, and Dolls, among others.
