Allu Arjun accused of breaking poll code; case registered: Report
South Indian superstar Allu Arjun and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy are facing legal action for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct in Nandyala, Andhra Pradesh. The two are accused of permitting a large public gathering at Reddy's residence on Saturday. This incident is considered a breach of the code of conduct ahead of the Andhra Pradesh elections scheduled for Monday (May 13).
FIR lodged against Arjun and Reddy for Section 144 violation
The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against Arjun and Reddy for violating Section 144 (which prohibits public gathering), currently in effect in Andhra Pradesh. Deputy Tehsildar P Ramachandra Rao from Nandyala Rural, who is overseeing the elections in the Nandyala constituency, registered the case, as per India Today. It's reported that Reddy invited Arjun without obtaining prior permission to attend the gathering at his residence.
Arjun clarified reason behind visit; denied political affiliation
Following the meeting at Reddy's residence, Arjun clarified his visit to Nandyala. He reportedly stated, "I came here on my own. Among my friends, in whichever field they are in, I will step up and help them if they need my help. It doesn't mean I am backing or supporting any political party." Despite the politically charged atmosphere due to his uncle Pawan Kalyan's involvement in politics, Arjun maintained that he isn't backing any party.
Massive crowd gathered to see Arjun amid chaos
As news of Arjun's presence spread, thousands flocked to the site hoping for a glimpse of their favorite star. Local police intervened to ensure Arjun's safetyamid the chaos. Arjun and his wife Sneha Reddy were seen waving to fans from the balcony of Reddy's house. Taking to X on Saturday, the actor posted a picture and stated, "Wishing you [Ravi Reddy] the very best in the elections and beyond."

In response to Arjun's post, Reddy shared a clip showcasing the massive crowd and expressed gratitude: "A heartfelt thank you to my friend Allu Arjun for traveling all the way to Nandyal to wish me the best in my election. Your unwavering support means everything to me, and I'm so grateful for our friendship! #Thaggedele, (sic)." Meanwhile, fans eagerly anticipate Arjun's appearance in Pushpa 2: The Rule, slated for release on August 15.
