Pooja Gandhi accused of non-payment of bills, she denies allegations
Kannada actress Pooja Gandhi grabbed headlines lately after she was accused of non-payment of a hotel bill worth Rs. 4.5 lakh. It was reported that Pooja, who was staying at a luxury hotel in Bengaluru for a couple of days, left without paying the exorbitant bill. While the manager has filed a complaint against her, Pooja has vehemently denied the allegations. Here's more.
Pooja stayed in the hotel with her politician friend
Reportedly, the incident took place when Pooja was staying in the hotel with her friend and BJP leader Anil P Menasinakai from April 2016 to March 2017. While their total bill turned out to be Rs. 26,22,344, they paid Rs. 22,83,129 on various days, till 2018. However, they did not pay the remaining amount and fled the spot after allegedly intentionally delaying the payment.
Menasinakai had issued cheque without sufficient balance, alleges hotel manager
Talking of the incident, the hotel manager alleged, "Menasinakai duped the hotel by issuing cheques without sufficient balance in his account, which itself amounts to cheating, and goes a long way in proving their guilt. So the duo had planned to cheat our hotel."
Pooja had asked for grace time for clearing the dues
While Menasinakai gave cheque without having sufficient balance, Pooja had asked for grace time to clear the dues. After she continued to delay the payment, the hotel manager filed a case with the High Grounds police on March 11. Based on that, police took up a non-cognizable report case. Meanwhile, Pooja vehemently rubbished the allegations and stated it's an attempt to tarnish her image.
I am nowhere connected with paying the hotel bill: Pooja
The actress claimed that she had stayed at the hotel during the pre-production of JD Chakravarthy's movie and cleared the payment with her credit card back then. Pooja even stated she is "nowhere connected with paying the hotel bill." "When I came to know about the false case, I contacted Bhaskar, the hotel GM, and he agreed there was a miscommunication," Pooja said.
Pooja was earlier embroiled in nasty fight with film distributor
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Pooja is in a spot. Back in 2011, the Mungaru Male actor was embroiled in a nasty controversy with renowned film distributor Kiran over financial issues. Pooja had also filed a complaint against Kiran, accusing him of sending "threatening and defaming" messages to her. Countering it, Kiran also filed a complaint against Pooja, leveling similar charges.
