Case against John Abraham-starrer 'Satyamev Jayate' for hurting religious sentiments
A case has been registered against the makers of the upcoming John Abraham-starrer Hindi movie 'Satyamev Jayate' for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of a community. The complainant, Syed Ali Jaffary, said he saw the movie's trailer. "There was an 'objectionable' scene that hurts the religious feelings of the community by insulting the religion and religious beliefs," Syed said.
Case was registered under IPC Section 295A
Based on the complaint, a case was registered last evening against Emmy Entertainments and others under IPC Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and relevant sections of the Cinematograph Act. Notably, the movie is due for release next month.
