Festival veteran
This was her 21st appearance at Cannes despite injury
Despite an evident injury to her right arm, Bachchan stuck to her professional commitments.
This is unsurprising considering she has been a regular attendee of the festival since her debut in 2002 and her sartorial choices receive praise every year.
Over the years, she has left memorable impressions with her red carpet looks, including a cut-out plunging gown by designer Neeta Lulla in 2004 and a strapless midnight blue gown created by Elie Saab in 2006.
Fashion evolution
Her iconic red carpet looks over the years
In 2014, the former Miss World wore a strapless Roberto Cavalli mermaid gown that garnered much attention.
Two years later, she returned as the golden girl in an Ali Younes Couture gown.
For Cannes 2017, she transformed into Cinderella in an icy blue Michael Cinco gown and looked majestic in another Cinco creation with a 20-foot long train in 2018.
Her style evolution at the festival has been nothing short of iconic.
Reactions
Netizens appreciated her different hairstyle and confidence
The Devdas actor's look was mostly met with a thunderous reception from her fans.
An X user tweeted, "Years after years, she proved and carved the path for other Indian stars to international mainstream. #PriyankaChopra, #DeepikaPadukone and #AliaBhatt walking on that path."
Another said, "Her Tresses So Beautiful.. what a refreshing change in her look."
Coming to Bachchan's recent big screen appearances, she was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: II.
