BTS's RM aka Kim Namjoon has achieved international acclaim with his latest solo track Come Back to Me, which has reached the number one spot on iTunes charts in 82 regions worldwide. Released on Friday, the song quickly climbed the charts in countries including Germany, France, Japan, India, and Brazil. This indie pop track explores the theme of "right and wrong" and is a part of RM's upcoming second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person.
RM collaborated with Oh Hyuk for 'Come Back to Me'
RM collaborated with Oh Hyuk from the band HYUKOH on the composition and lyrics of Come Back to Me. To note, RM's second solo album includes 11 songs. The remaining tracks are scheduled for release on May 24. According to BIGHIT MUSIC, RM's agency, the album encapsulates universal emotions that resonate with people at various points in their lives.
'Right Place, Wrong Person' follows RM's successful debut album
Right Place, Wrong Person is RM's second solo project following his debut album Indigo (2022). The debut album was a personal exploration of his late 20s and achieved double platinum certification from the South Korea Music Content Association in January 2023. By July, Indigo had surpassed sales of over 800K copies domestically and over 100K units in the US. The new album is categorized under the alternative genre and features heartfelt lyrics intertwined with a rich sound.
'Come Back to Me' music video showcases RM's artistry
A teaser for the song was released on May 8 on HYBE's official YouTube channel, sparking speculation among fans about the music video's concept. The full music video was released on Friday, directed by Lee Sung-jin. It showcases Namjoon's profound artistry and vulnerability as it depicts him navigating through life's various painful memories, eventually finding solace and moving into a new phase.
