BTS costumes from hit single 'Dynamite' auctioned off for $162,500
BTS is a gold mine of a pop sensation in the sense that whatever the band leaves its imprints on becomes highly valuable. Take their 2020 blockbuster hit Dynamite for instance. Apart from breaking several records on YouTube, the costumes worn by the members of the septet Korean band in the video have now been auctioned off for a staggering amount of $162,500!
The band partnered with Julien's Auction for MusiCares Charity
Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook, RM, and Jin gave away their highly eye-soothing pastel costumes worn while filming the video, as part of their fundraising efforts. For this initiative, the band partnered with American charity organization Julien's Auction particularly for their program MusiCares, which aims to pool in donations to support musicians in need, given the overwhelming financial impacts caused by the pandemic.

The highest bidders of the auction were Japanese art collector, Yusaku Maezawa, and YouTuber Hikakin, also from Japan. The amount generated was over eight times the amount estimated for sale, said Billboard. The second costliest item at that event was Snoop Dogg's self-portrait dog wearing a Doggy Style 25 gold chain signed by him. That painting fetched a handsome amount of $96,000. Other notable items purchased at the bidding were an original painting of Coldplay's Chris Martin by Billy Morrison, a Kenny Chesney-signed guitar, a Carole King-worn jacket with an autograph, and a lot more.
