The much-anticipated fourth season of Netflix's hit period drama Bridgerton is officially in production.
The streaming giant recently shared the first look of the upcoming season, confirming that actors Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha will be stepping into the spotlight as the show's new leads.
The image was shared on Twitter with the caption, "Please rise for Sophie Baek & Benedict Bridgerton!!!"

New leads
'Benophie' to take center stage in 'Bridgerton' S4
The upcoming season of Bridgerton will see Thompson and Ha portraying the characters of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, respectively.
The duo, fondly referred to as "Benophie" by fans, will lead the ensemble cast that includes Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Nicola Coughlan, and Luke Newton.
Ha, an Australian-Korean actor, was announced as the second half of "Benophie" earlier this month.

In the upcoming season, viewers will witness the blossoming romance between Benedict and Sophie.
Benedict, the second-eldest Bridgerton brother, is initially averse to the idea of settling down. However, his perspective changes when he encounters the enigmatic Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball.
The third season of Bridgerton, which aired this summer, was led by Coughlan and Newton.

'Bridgerton' S4 release: A two-year wait?
When asked about the release date for Bridgerton Season 4, showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter in June that fans might have to wait for about two years.
"We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language," she explained.
