'Brahmastra' becomes first Indian film to release in Taiwan's Imax
In yet another feat achieved by the magnum opus Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, the film is set to be released on the Imax screens in Taiwan on December 2. With this, the film has become the first Indian movie to ever be released on Taiwan's Imax screens. The makers announced the news on social media by also sharing the film's poster in Taiwanese language.
Why does this story matter?
Brahmastra's first part was in the making for about a decade before it finally hit the theaters on September 9. The star-studded movie features Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles, while Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy were also seen in key roles. Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo appearance in the sci-fi drama. So, this achievement is pretty significant.
‘Brahmastra’ broke the failure streak of Bollywood
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film was released on September 9 amid huge expectations. And even on its opening day, the film saw a smash hit at the box office. After a streak of duds in Bollywood, Brahmastra came as a much-needed megahit venture and minted more than Rs. 250cr with its Hindi version alone.
Disney+ Hotstar is streaming ‘Brahmastra’
The film was released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, too. The second and third parts of the trilogy are also on the cards. While the makers have yet to officially announce the cast of the next installments, reports about the same have been making the rounds. The film is available for streaming on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar in all languages.
Actors rumored to be part of the next installments
While some reports suggest that Yash was approached to play an important role in the second installment, others say that Vijay Deverakonda was also in talks with the makers. Reports of Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan being approached to play Dev in the second installment were also making rounds. However, Mukerji or the makers did not confirm any of these reports.
