Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor's 'Brahmastra' finally wraps shooting after 5 years
It's finally a wrap for team Brahmastra! The period sci-fi film, led by Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, has finished its final shooting schedule, as was announced by the makers and actors. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the upcoming mythological venture is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji. Mukerji's previous directorial projects include Wake Up Sid (2009) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).
Why does this story matter?
Mukerji and his team reportedly started filming Brahmastra in 2018. Ever since then, fans and the entire film industry have been eagerly waiting for an update as it was touted to be a superhero film, spanning across centuries, featuring a stellar cast. The blooming romance between Bhatt and Kapoor fueled the excitement further, as Brahmastra would mark their first feature film collaboration ever.
Here's what Mukerji said on Instagram
Announcing the news, Mukerji wrote online, "5 years since we took our first shot on Brahmastra, and we've finally filmed our last one!" "Absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey! Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of Part One: Shiva in Varanasi - a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan," he added. The team was stationed in Varanasi for three days.
Johar shared his excitement as well

Only for it to unravel on the big screens for you to experience!! #Brahmastra Part One - Shiva is coming to cinemas on 09.09.2022!" wrote Johar. Apart from Kapoor and Bhatt, the film co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy, and Shah Rukh Khan (cameo).

Bhatt's first look shared on her birthday
Last December, the makers announced the film's release date, and then on March 15, Bhatt's birthday, her first-look images were shared. Taking to social media, Dharma Productions dropped a mere 30-second-long clip that showcased Isha (Bhatt) in various scenes and situations. As previous promotional clips have suggested, Isha will accompany Shiva in his quest to master the most powerful weapon (Brahmastra) in the universe.
