Boney Kapoor plans 'Mom 2' with Khushi Kapoor in lead

Bollywood filmmaker Boney Kapoor has announced plans for a sequel to his wife and legendary actor Sridevi's final film, Mom, during the IIFA 2025 silver jubilee celebrations.
He revealed that their daughter, Khushi Kapoor, is being considered for the lead role in this sequel.
At the event, Kapoor also expressed his love for both Khushi and her sister Janhvi, noting their efforts to follow in their late mother's legacy to achieve a similar level of perfection.

Kapoor said he was hopeful that his daughters could attain a similar level of perfection as their mother, Sridevi.
"I have watched all of Khushi's films. Archies, Loveyappa, and Nadaaniyaan. I am planning a film with her too after No Entry (sic)," he said.
He added, "It could be Mom 2. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother."

Mom, which was released in 2017, was Sridevi's last film before her tragic passing in 2018. Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the film also won the actor a posthumous Best Actress National Award for her role.

Apart from the Mom sequel, Kapoor also shared updates on his next production venture: a sequel to the 2005 hit No Entry. He said the film will go on floors sometime in July-August.
Opening up about the cast, he said, "There are too many leading ladies, so I can't just talk about a few now. We have locked a few now and have some more to go."
He added, "After we finalize, there will be a formal announcement."
