Boney Kapoor to remake Marathi hit 'Baipan Bhari Deva'

Renowned producer Boney Kapoor has reportedly acquired the South Indian remake rights of the 2023 Marathi blockbuster Baipan Bhari Deva.
The film, which had six female leads, was a massive success owing to its unique concept, stellar performances, relatability, and music.
A source told Bollywood Hungama that Kapoor was "quite blown by Baipan Bhari Deva" and started the process of acquiring its rights in 2024.
The film starred Rohini Hattangadi, Deepa Parab, and Vandana Gupte, among others.

Kapoor paid ₹2cr for the remake rights
Reportedly, Kapoor has bagged the rights to remake Baipan Bhari Deva in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The source added that he paid a whopping sum of nearly ₹2cr for the rights, knowing the potential of the film's storyline.
"Boney ji will soon lock the directors for the south versions and also cast appropriate faces."
"He's confident that the female actors from the four industries would be too excited to be a part of such a film," added another source.

'Baipan Bhari Deva' sequel and re-release announced
On Women's Day 2024, director Kedar Shinde and Jio Studios announced a sequel to Baipan Bhari Deva, titled Aaipan Bhari Deva.
The studio has also announced plans to re-release the original film in cinemas on March 7, 2025, on International Women's Day.
The original film tells the story of six estranged sisters who come together for a 'Managala Gaur' competition and has earned a whopping ₹76.05cr in cinemas.
