Boney Kapoor breaks down at Sridevi's Madame Tussauds statue unveiling
What's the story
Late actress Sridevi's wax figure at the prestigious Madame Tussauds, Singapore, was unveiled today by Boney Kapoor.
The aggrieved husband was accompanied by his daughters, Jahnvi and Khushi.
Given the recognition, the trio was proud, but Boney couldn't help himself, and broke down remembering his wife.
"An honor such as this makes it abundantly evident that she lives on through her work," he stated.
Statement
"Her figure a reminder of the legacy she leaves behind"
Boney stated that he and his family are quite "overwhelmed by the respect and love" Sridevi has been getting posthumously.
"I love her beyond imagination but I also very much respected her art, the passion and dedication with which she committed herself to work," he added.
He also emphasized that Sridevi's wax figure will be a "reminder of the legacy" she has left behind.

Replica
The statue was a replica of Sridevi's 'Hawa Hawai' look
Notably, the wax figure was a replica of the veteran actress' look from Mr. India's iconic song, Hawa Hawai.
Reportedly, as many as 20 skilled artists worked closely with Sridevi's family for around five months to replicate her pose, expressions, make-up and the outfit she wore in the song, for the statue.
To note, Sridevi's statue is an exclusive addition to the museum's collection.

Sharing details about the statue, Lizzie Parkinson, Costumier from Merlin Magic Making team in the UK had stated that it was a challenging yet interesting project for them.
"Her crown, cuffs, earrings and dress brooch were 3D-printed and went through numerous tests to achieve the level of detail needed. It was a joy to see everyone's work come together," she had stated earlier.
